Proverbs 11:25 says:

“The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.” Proverbs 11:25 NKJV

Generosity is such a beautiful characteristic of the Christian life.

Jesus has given us more than we could ever deserve, and because we have received His grace so freely, we have the opportunity to extend love and generosity to others.

That might mean giving someone a beautiful Bible that encourages them to spend more time in God's Word.

It might be a journal with a handwritten note tucked inside.

It might mean bringing dinner to a family going through a difficult season.

Or it might simply mean calling someone and saying, “I was thinking about you today and wanted you to know I'm praying for you.”

The gift itself is not really the point.

The love behind it is.

A Cozy Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal Recipe

Since September is beginning to bring thoughts of fall, here is an easy recipe to make your home smell wonderful on a slow morning.

Ingredients

2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of sea salt
1 3/4 cups milk of choice
1 egg
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large apple, chopped
1/3 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional

Directions

Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease an 8 inch baking dish.

Combine the oats, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.

In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, maple syrup and vanilla.

Pour the wet ingredients into the oats and stir in the chopped apple and optional nuts.

Transfer everything to the baking dish and bake for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, until the center is set.

Serve warm and enjoy!

Give the gift.

Say the prayer.
